BAGS OF ROCK : Band's Biogs


Two time World Solo Snare Drum Champion, Stevie Shedden is on snare and percussion with Bags Of Rock. He had a passion for drumming
from a very young age. Stevie is also a current member of the Shotts and Dykehead Drum Corps and has won several championships with
the band under world class drummer Jim Kilpatrick.

Marcus on the bass guitar and vocals hails from the Orkney Islands. In 2010 he left the island to pursue a career as a professional musician
on the mainland. It was not long before Marcus took on the low end duties in Bags of Rock. As well as hammering out the bass lines,
he also takes lead vocal on occasion singing the song 'Timeless' which he helped to write.

Bags of Rock guitarist, "Deathface", has always had a passion for music and graduated as a sound engineer, with a degree in Music Technology.
"Deathface" has played all over with Bags of Rock, claiming his second album with them at the age of 21.
Bringing the deadly, distorted dynamics to the band,
"Deathface" will always make his presence known; whether you like it or not.

Grade 1 bagpiper Jonathan Graham has played since the age of 10, his raw talent gaining him numerous awards as a solo piper.
He recently graduated with a first-class honours degree in Scottish music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Career highlights include travelling all over the world playing for the likes of the Queen, the Dali Lama and being selected as
the lone "Hero Piper" at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth games handover ceremony performing to 60,000 in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, India and televised to 1 billion people.

Gregor "G-Man" James has played guitar, bass and vocals since the age of 11. Since graduating from music college at the age of 18, "G-Man" has
played for Scottish Dance act 'The Rhythmic State', played bass for session drumming legend 'Ted Mckenna', fronted 'The Red Hot Chilli Pipers'
and composed and produced a great deal of original electronic music. Now fronting, playing guitar, composing and producing Bags Of Rock,
Gregor also runs a recording studio and hosts a Rock Show on Sunny Govan FM in the Glasgow area.

Alan Brown played in the drum corps of various Scottish Pipe Bands from a very young age then progressed towards the drum kit and began touring
at 14 with a Beatles tribute band. He studied music at Strathclyde University then was awarded a scholarship at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
He then successfully auditioned in New York City to tour with major label American pop/rock band 'Bliss', touring extensively in the Far East.
Alan has also sessioned with several other Rock bands e.g. ex 'Marillion' front man "Fish", and also American Punk Rockers 'The Peasants' from Boston. He is very pleased to be part of the latest dynamite force to come from Glasgow- Bags Of Rock!

Stirling lad James Henderson started playing the bagpipes at the age of 10 influenced by piping visionaries Gordon Duncan and Fred Morrison.
He competed predominantly in the pipe band scene before meeting "G-Man", eventually completing the Bags Of Rock lineup that we know today.
James studies at the RSAMD solo piping course and is now in his 3rd year. Winners of 'Rock Recording of the Year' and 'Group of the Year' at the
Scottish New Music Awards 2012
